Call

atelier mobile + Politecnico di Torino-DAD + VIVIAMOLAq invite to apply to am#8_L’Aquila: design+build workshop on facilities linked to mobility spaces and public places in L’Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, from the 14th to the 22nd of September, 2019.

How can we transform urban spaces for mobility into public multifunctional spaces to gather people of different ages and backgrounds?

The participants will form teams with Politecnico di Torino students to analyse and deepen the topic, starting from studies by the previous workshop Build-Use-Stay held by the local association VIVIAMOLAq and the Università degli Studi dell’Aquila. Common site-specific designs will then be developed in teamwork tutored by the teaching staff and the visiting critics to get to final designs to be built with the assistance of specialised carpenters. Lectures on mobility, public spaces, design+build case studies and the use of colours in public places will be given mainly during the first days of the workshop.
